North Cheshire Challenge Trophy 2004

Our interclub slide competition was again supported by all the leading local societies as well as those from as far afield as Dumfries in Scotland, Dyssini in Wales and Weston in the Isle of Man.

Bob Underhill from the Midlands Federation was our judge for the evening. Bob had 105 slides to judge from 21 clubs in the limited time of two hours.

After a quick run-through of all slides Bob began his fluent and constructive commentary. 51 slides were lost in the first round, 26 in the 2nd, 14 in the 3rd, 8 in the 4th and 3 in the 5th round. This left 3 slides from which to choose a winner. Bob choice of best slide was "Spiral" by Gwen Charnock of Wigan 10 Foto Club. Gwen is pictured receiving her prize.

Wigan 10 was also declared the winner of the competition and Bob Underhill presented the trophy to David Butler, the club's representative. Full results table.

The Competition ran smoothly with clubs able to collect their entry together with an individual printout of results almost immediately after proceedings were drawn to a close – an impressive feature now expected of the team at North Cheshire P.S.

This is the 21st year that the North Cheshire Challenge Trophy has been run with computerised scoring.
